Year 4Mrs Wardle, Mrs Donkin
Welcome to Year 4!
Hello! Year 4 is made up of 34 children; our teacher is Mrs Wardle and our teaching assistant is Mrs Donkin. This term we are looking forward to learning all about the Ruthless Romans, including their daily life, their powerful army, famous Romans, what they brought to Britain and the rebellion of Boudicca. Some of Year 4 will also have the opportunity to take part in the ‘Tall Ships’ project along with other local schools. Keep popping back to our class page to stay up to date with our journey through Year 4.
This week in Year 4, we have been learning about Roman Gods and Goddesses. We thought about each God’s personality and characteristics to decide on a score out of 10 for power, skills, importance and weapons. We then had fun designing our own top trumps cards and playing against each other!
Some of Year 4 began their project on the ‘Tall Ships’ this week. We began by drawing images of ships and designing our own vessels using clay. Keep popping back to see our progress over the coming weeks.
To finish off our ‘Wow Week’ on the Romans, we created our own pizzas and enjoyed eating them along with some Italian snacks. Yummy!
Parents and relatives came into Year 4 today to hear all about our class trip to Arbeia Roman Fort. We then had fun together creating Roman mosaics and making clay pots and amulets. A big thank you to everyone who came along; we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Look out for your artwork up in the school hall soon.
