Year 5 Spring term WOW week is in full swing and the children have completed two sections of the River Wear Trail. The first section was from Sunderland Marina to Southwick and the second section was from Fatfield to the Victoria Viaduct. The class have been learning about forces/bridges in Science and about mapping/location/changes in land usage in Geography. This visit re-affirmed their learning in a fun (and very healthy!) way. After completing approximately 15,000 steps along the side of the River Wear, Year 5 are now experts in bridges, mapping and how the Wear has changed over time.
